This thread is a place to post your best deals, steals and one-of-a-kind finds, whether Android based or anything else you find at your favorite "pre-owned" shopping spots. Post pics, story and prices paid, as well as pics showing the great finds in their "new home".

I'll start with this great find at my local Goodwill, a favorite place to find incredible deals. It's a charging station.

I paid $4.97. It was brand new. Geezers, the power strip was still in an unopened plastic package, and is easily worth the price itself.

I have a similar charging stand setup, but no where near the deal you found. My wife got it for me for Fathers Day about 5 years ago.

I've written about it in the past but when fishing with some buddies a young man says he's joining the army and selling his kayak for $40. I figure what the hey, it's probably a cheap one that'll be a decent starter into the world of kayaking since he said he didn't know what brand or model it is. I went by his house a couple days later and picked up the 15' (my first shock since my truck bed is only 6') and that it needed some tlc in the form of a new bungee system and cockpit trim. No biggie. I went online to find what I needed and found it was a 01 model with a (at the time it was new) price of ~ $900. New models are in excess of $1k. I got new trim, bungee cord and foot pegs for the same price I paid for the boat. The guy threw in the paddle when I bought the boat since he didn't have a need for it anymore, another $75 replacement price. I got a new one anyway that is more efficient for about half what it'd cost to replace the old one with the same inefficient model .
Here's my (at the time) 6 year old daughter taking it for a test paddle before I fixed or replaced anything.

I took 4 old bmx bike pegs and tied them to a 25' type to use as an anchor (the red line you might see in the water) because they're not heavy when tossed overboard but dig into the bottom as well as filling up with the stuff on the bottom for extra weight, a better staying power when fishing on moving water or windy days when I find a spot to just sit and read my Kindle . It's also long enough to use as an old school depth finder by tying knots every foot.

Wow, $40 for a $900 kayak. Nice find for sure!

I bought one of those in 2003/4 for almost $3k. Wasn't my money, we needed it for work.

Yeah, it may be 10 years old but it works perfectly and is more than sufficient for an impromptu home theatre in my hotel room!

When something is supposed to be pulled from our shelves for donation they mark it down to .03 as a trigger to pull it off the shelf when the price change comes through. Home Depot is similar but at the same time often the computer count is off, thinking there are none on the sales floor, and doesn't include the item in the price change log. Home Depot, as I wrote, is similar and sometimes stuff gets sold for super cheap. I just found some stuff the other night at work , when going cleanup, that I used my computer to find where they were supposed to go on the floor and the machine said they weren't (floor count of 0) there and the price waa .03 .
My store made Pinterest about a year ago when we had some $100+ doll houses marked down to 3 cent and still on the sales floor.

Wow! I'll have to keep that in mind. How would I as a consumer know?
