Goin back to the iPhone

My upgrade is this month and and Apple will be announcing next week if it's gonna be the 5s or if they're goin straight to the 6. When I first got my S3 I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread and my upgrade was going to be to the S4. I've had this phone about 6mo maybe more my carrier is Verizon. But for about a month now especially since the new update I drop data a lot, 4G LTE is worse than 3G, text messages sometimes don't get sent or take like 30 seconds. My email inbox always has a -1 on it, I mean wtf is that about? Androids seem to bog down like a computer after so long. And the battery life, don't even get me started. I know I'm not the only one having these issues. I put an add on craigslist for a straight up trade for the iPhone 5 and got an interested party who I hope is serious. These are nice phones but too quirky for my taste. I've always been an iPhone owner but gave this phone a shot and loved it at first, but now it just irritates the hell outta me. Please don't flame me, I'm not hatin on the Galaxy I'm just sayin it's got too many issues for my taste.

Did you ever consider you might have an issue with your S3 that needs to be looked at? I've had mine since last September and love it. The other 4 phones on our plan are iPhones and I always boast about the features I have that they don't. Good luck with the iSheep.

Not considered that, no. I would love to upgrade to the S4. I agree the iPhone doesn't have the features the Galaxy has. I'll take it to Verizon tomorrow see what they say.

indcolts, I agree that sometimes Android gets bogged down, mostly due to that we can do almost anything we want to the thing, add whatever we want and tweak whatever we want and eventually the phone says,“wait a minute...I'm confused." In addition, sometimes an update will conflict with things still going on in the previous version.

I would recommend doing a factory data reset (fdr) before taking it to Verizon. Chances are that is what Verizon will do but not tell you before hand. Then you're delivered a shock when they give you your phone back with everything missing and looking nothing like it did (because the fdr brings your phone back to a brand new state). Doing the fdr yourself will allow you to control what you save and what you restore and will fix almost all and any problems the phone had.

As a guide for ideas when backing up and restoring before doing an fdr see: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/rescue-squad-help/219101-getting-most-success-upgrading-ics-gb.html

I have the s4 and i5 currently, I know it's not really as comparable as the 5s would be.... Regards to be battery life, my s4 actually surpasses my ip5 (for my usage patterns).

I heard the new s3 update messed up the lte signals. My brother took the update. He's not rooted. He called Verizon and they aware of the problems in the new update so they sent him a replacement.

So what's the verdict? Did you get the S3 fixed so did you go to the iphone5? If you did stick it out with Samsung I'm curious as to what fixed your issue.
