Google allows websites to have email addresses. So instead of [email protected] it is [email protected]. You still log into gmail. For some reason I can't set this up in the gmail app. Any ideas how to?
+1. This has worked since day 1 with my Droid1 (and even on old devices with Android 1.6). It has to be a gmail hosted email domain, otherwise you use the "email" app.
However, upon buying my X, I could not get this to work. After Googling I found some people with an old device that runs 1.6 had this problem and the solution was to do the factory reset. After I did the factory reset on my new device I was able to add my extra domain emails that I host on Google's gmail servers.
I've been reading more and more posts from people with oddities out of the box on the X that get cured with a factory reset.
