gmail- to get rid of the main email

When I first purchased my :greendroidroid:greendroid:, I set up a new gmail acct. To later realize I had one from a while ago. How can I erase the first one that I set up and make the one i already have my main one. When I tried deleting the first one, it says that things on my phone might change...does this affect it in anyway??

You have to completely wipe the phone and start over. Do a factory reset and enter the new gmail accout.
