Gmail syncing issue

I think something is wrong with my syncing. All I can view are emails that have been sent/received from when my phone was set up. I can't view previous or past emails. My folders are also empty saying there is no email in them when checking from my phone.

Any suggestions?

I read about the enabling "labels" but haven't figured out how to do that with the Incredible.
