Glitches when typing

It often glitches when i type something. It might show what im typing for a few seconds, then it doesnt present the characters in the text box, then the keyboard disappears.
In some email apps it might even send out the email while i'm trying to write something

It hasn't had any major falls or damage.

I have had the exact same issue for the last few weeks. I can't type a text message longer than 1 or 2 words before the phone freezes, requires me to close the text, re-open and keep typing. Often times the phone locks and what should take me 10 seconds takes 4 or 5 tries to get the text typed and sent. VERY annoying.
