Gingerbread update not coming down OTA

I have a VZW Droid 2 (sys ver is 2.3.20.A955, Android 2.2), and it won't download the Gingerbread update. Are there any tricks to force the OTA update to come down? Or, is there a place I can download it & just push it onto my phone or something?

all you have to do is search the internet for a root ROM of Android 2.3 Gingerbread and root your phone
