Gingerbread on rooted phone

I rooted my droid x and have a custom rom. Will the update for gb still appear, and if it does would I have to remove custom rom before updating? How does that work?

Has anyone even received the update anyway?

Sent from my DROIDX using DroidForums

Have almost the same question..... I'm rooted with Z4... no custom room or anything just basic root....i went Z4 and un rooted....am I good now for OTA?

I used Z4 also to root my phone originally also. I think the servers are overloaded so it keeps telling me that it is unavailable currently.

you can't be on a custom rom and get the ota. You must be on stock froyo with no bloat removed. Root is ok, just don't remove any bloat from stock .340. Also remove dx bootstrap if present, or else ota will fial.

I'm going to wait till June first to see if I can manually trigger it to download. If I still can't get it, then i guess I'll do a factory reset.

Wait...i removed nfs shift that racing game that came with the phone but I removed it from app. List as I would any other app...that will stop me from updating??? I just removed dx bootstrap, I unfroze all frozen apps, and un rooted too.
