Gingerbread Bacon

Just switched from Lib1.5 to rooted Gingerbread, and there is a new icon in my status bar. It's just to the left of the wifi rings, and looks like bacon; three vertical squiggly lines.

What is this?

I almost flashed this ROM to find out what this "bacon" stuff was all about after seeing this thread pop up....glad I read this thread after reading title....still on Liberty....but would like a little bacon if possible....
