Since you've lost all your apps anyway, why not try re-flashing the leaked OTA again? Not sure what your process was, but I have read a lot of feedback with weird issues if a full wipe wasn't done. Make sure you do a full wipe before re-flash.

I just received the system update notice for 2.3.4 (HTC Incredible) How can I stop the notifications as I am Rooted and do not want to loose the ability of WIFI Tether? I read some where that you can edit the build.prop under the ro.build.finger.... and change the numeric number just before :user key...
Does any one know about this? I need to stop the notifications for system update

I have the same question. VZW just pushed the update this morning and now I'm being continually prompted to install it. I'm running Skyraider and I don't want to lose it! Not sure I'm quite savvy enough to go around editing system files so please dumb down any solutions if possible. Thx.
