Doing simple tasks my X is getting noticeably warm.
Spoke to tech support and it appears to be a known issue. The Rep said they are hoping for a patch in the very near future to resolve this and the battery drain issues.
I also noticed that my phone is overheating after the upgrade last night. Plus the battery is not lasting anywhere as long as usual. I've actually been charging my phone all day and I've barely made it to 80% (from 30% at 8 a.m.) which is NOT the norm for my phone. Wishing I'd never done the update on my phone, too many problems...
I used to have to be running streaming music, navigation, and browsing the web simultaneously to get this phone nearly as warm as browsing a couple web pages just got it.... I'm not hopeful for battery life
I too have noticed how my phone now gets warm and I also noticed how now my MSNBC news apps freeze up on me now. They didnt do that before. I have the extended battery so I havent really noticed the battery drainage as much. Is there a way to report all of this so they can make corrections and fix it?
+1 report it to tech support so they have a record of it. Like the tech said, it sounds like an issue with the update and not the phone, so don't expect them to even offer you a new phone, but every reported instance helps to get a patch out.
That heat and battery life were the main reasons I took the ota rather than stay on the tbh rooted version, but if my phone is going to get hot and my battery is gonna suck regardless I might just sbf back tp froyo and install the 2 part zip files to have rooted gingerbread...
i charged my phone all night in the mulitmedia dock and in the car dock on the way to work. Got a message that i needed to replace my battery.. and it had power going to it at the time.. it was warm too..
now at work in another dock powered via usb.. seems to be charging back up.
