Getting Notifications To Repeat

I missed a text yesterday because my Razr M played the notification sound once and that was it. Is there some way to get the notifications to repeat? I'd like to not become that guy who is constantly checking his phone, and I do use it as my work pager so checking it in the middle of the night is not going to happen.

EDIT: I see from the "related threads" list that I probably need an app like Handcent. Nice feature, that "related threads."

After looking around I went with "Missed Call." It looks pretty good, nothing too complicated, just something to make the Android more of a nudge.

i also use enotify https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hermes.enotifylite&hl=en for email notifications, another great app.
