There were some rumors a few weeks ago that Gamestop may start selling their own branded Android tablets with pre-loaded games. As it turns out, the rumors were only partially true. You can now go down to your local Gamestop (as long as your local store is one of the pre-determined 200 locations where the tabs will be available) and pick up an Android tablet with seven pre-loaded games on them. However, the tablets are the various brands that are already available. What these special 200 Gamestop locations sell includes the Acer Iconia, Acer Iconia Tab A500, ASUS Eee Pad Transformer, Motorola XOOM, ViewSonic VPAD7 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. These are supposedly, in-stock and available with prices starting at around $300 and going up from there.

The seven games that come on the tabs are Dead Space, Madden NFL, Monster Madness, Sonic CD, Re-Load, Riptide GP and Cordy. Additionally, Gamestop is offering a bundle that includes a special tablet-friendly own-brand Bluetooth controller for an additional $39 bucks. They haven't made it readily obvious which locations will have the tablets, but we've also included a link to the Gamestop web-store below where you can purchase one there as well.

From a small software retailer named Babbage's, Gamestop has become popular around the world. Because of its success, the gaming store will sell Android tablets this Christmas, according to Wall Street Journal. The store has been selling the iPhone and iPad for a couple of months, and now GameStop will fill the gap by offering Android tablets. The tablets will be GameStop-branded, and the store will pack several choice games on each unit in an effort to entice gamers from the iPad.
