Lol, the timing is right
I just wish android (Google) would come out with a pc OS (Linux doesn't count)
As it stands now Microsoft will most likely see a big jump in Windows phone sales because of Windows 8 start "menu" being practically identical to Windows phone (metro ui)
Also I'm winning

So you expect them to develop a completely new OS instead of basing it on an established and well made platform that is so versatile that it shouldn't even be considered its own? On top of that, forcing everyone into yet another brand new OS who's programming would again be so different it would be a dev feat to get another stage of apps/programs for it to even launch? There is absolutely nothing wrong with Google OS being based on Linux, and I'm sure most would agree with me.

I respect your opinion though. I will say that IF Google were able to come up with their own non-linux based OS, feat or not, it would be epic.

He meant that since Android is built from Linux that Linux doesn't count as an OS that is like Android. He wants to see, as do I, an Android based OS for the PC. Even though Android was built on Linux, they're two completely different beasts. Does that make sense?

Yes I agree that was his meaning, and I'm all for Google scaling Android to the desktop as well. It would be a little jump from a tablet to a desktop environment but much better than their Chrome OS. I don't know why they didn't just scale up Android from the beginning.

But despite the thought that it would be difficult to snag developers for what would possibly be perceived as "yet another Linux disro" I think Google would have an advantage because of what they've already built with Android and done of their other platforms. If they rolled Chrome OS support over to Android Desktop OS it would give people something to get behind. And it would even arguably be the most competitive "Linux" distribution ever and may get people that have never tried Linux to try it. If anyone could unify a lot of developers for that it would be Google.

I agree with you. I also wish they'd release an Android mp3 player...
