Gallery on Droid not working properly

having problems, anyone else??? supposedly the 2.1 update addresses??? prefer not to do a factory reset, "IF" 2.1 corrects the issue(s): segregates photos/pictures into different groupings (squares-of-4) i.e., camera pictures (13) camera media (13) all pictures (14). AND, when click on the little camera icon lower right of the camera pictures 'square' --> opens up camera pictures - v. - camera media, when open - only opens a total of 12 pictures, with a blank 13th ??? when try to return, receive a window: Sorry! activity gallery is not responding --> 2 options: force close - or - wait!!?? force close takes me back to home screen!!!??? obviously, something wrong - anyone else?????
