Gallery keeps crashing

this has happened before, but other times it has happened a simple reboot of the phone and it's fixed. I've tried rebooting at least 3 times now, and I get the same result. everytime I try to open up my picture Gallery, it flashes for a second as if it's about to open, and then closed automatically. no message of a force close or anything like that. just goes back to the home screen each time.

anyone with any advice on how to fix this issue?

found a way around this problem, but the problem itself is still annoying.

If I open up the camera that comes stocked with the Droid X, and click the box with the most recently taken picture, it automatically opens up the gallery of pictures. I just don't understand why I can't open it up from the Gallery icon.

Try the steps outlined in post # 32 in this thread:

If that doesn't work, you might have to backup your sd card and then format your sd card.
