I don't understand why the dock keeps the phone standing up? My old moto dock held the phone in landscape so you could watch movies in the dock.

Yeah, that's a bit odd. I did see it at Amazon, and they said that when you connect it to your TV it will stay in portrait unless you use an app to force orientation.

I use the cordless charger. I've gone through two phones plugging and unplugging it every day. Eventually the port came loose. And the cordless thingy works flawlessly.

Yeah, you need the ultimate rotation to force the dock into landscape mode for the home screens...pretty cheap though on play store.
