galaxy s3 screen is stuck

i've encounter with a very weird problem.

my phone was full functional this morning. now it's stuck on this screen (photo is attached).

i tried vol up+home btn+power but nothing.

please - help. i hate the fact we are so depented on this little piece of metal. but what can i say - usefull piece of metal :/

As Danvee suggests, pull the battery for 10 minutes. Let us know if it fixes the problem.

i've tried that. for few hours even. didn't work. any assumption even what might be the problem?

No assumptions, but looks like hardware.
Disassemble and look for any loose cable connections.

can i try to erase from the basic the galaxy? if it's a software problem it will probably solve it. i guess it's better to try that before pay so much for fixing that, no?
