Galaxy s3 box says "updated" on bottom right corner.

The s3 I got today has the word "updated" on the bottom right corner of the box. Any idea why?

Many new Verizon S3s sold in the past month or so, along with those given out as replacement devices, include a slightly newer build:

Verizon Galaxy S3 Receiving Update to VRLG1, Includes New Kernel and Dumbed Down Search

It isn't an update that has gone out OTA yet for those who purchased their phones closer to launch though.

Click on the link in my post above to the story on Droid-Life. Then go to Settings -> About device on your phone. Look at the Baseband version, Kernel version, or Build number. If it's the same as the screenshot on the left, you have the new version. If it's the same as the screenshot on the right, you have the original version.

Does the new kernel on g1 help holding on to 4g any better? I have the g1 modem seems to have helped a bit
