If you are experiencing problems with the speaker of your Nexus not being loud enough, there is an app called "Volume+" that just might be able to help you out.

The App is free at the developers website: www.androidaudiohacks.com

while it works, users should note this modification could damage the hardware on the phone. The directions should be followed exactly to figure out what's a safe level to use.

You've got 2 b kidin me!!!!Just dloaded the free v+ and it works really great. Is this the one you're talkin about?

In the app description it states

"
A Cyanogen Mod 7 or MIUI ROM is HIGHLY recommended. Running this app on a Stock ROM/Kernel may result in it not working, being far too quiet, or getting even quieter. PLEASE don't comment or rate badly if you are on a Stock ROM as this is most likely the problem.
Thanks."

I am still running stock, and curious if it will be OK on the galaxy nexus without running a custom ROM?

I just used this on my stock Nexus and it works just fine. I used the free app turned the volume up to 4 left everything else stock. It is still not as loud as my old OG Droid but now i can hear without holding it up to my ear. Thanks.

Volume+ is great, I've been using it since the Nexus launched. I use +10 and it's near the level of my OG Droid.

On a volume related note, if you guys are not hearing your screen clicks and screen lock sounds when you have them enabled, there is a solution. Some Nexuses, not all, have their system volume turned all the way down by default. Without a third party app, there is no way to change this.

Solution: Download Quick Settings and click on volume control. Near the bottom you'll notice system volume - slide this up to 7 and enjoy your newfound sounds.

Anybody use the in call volume setting in volume +? If so, what have you set your steps to?

No but I was wondering about this myself not for me but my g/f who has hearing loss. I haven't tried this in call volume setting for fear it may not be fully compatible with ICS. IDK but welcome anyone's thoughts :) She doesn't have any serious problems hearing with the stock in call volume but I wouldn't mind boosting it a bit if this works on ICS.

I set the Volume Steps to 25. This way it takes poressing the volume up button 25 times to get it from the lowest setting to the highest setting. It does nothing for the max valume level.

I installed the Free VolumePlus app listed in the first post by shadez. I am using the +4 setting and it enhances the volume on Iheart radio very well, but does not seem to help the volume on Netflix. Should it help Netflix or is it a different volume setting? Thanks in advance, WolfpackRon.
