Galaxy Nexus - Twitter App

Anyone else noticing a very slow and laggy experience with the basic Twitter app? Any other twitter apps that are working well?

I had Tweetcaster Pro that I had for free from Amazon Market. It is a no-go as I keep getting "error code 404" after entering my password to authenticate. I may look at Tweetdeck again.

I installed the official twiiter app just to try it out then saw all the people I follow added to my contacts! I uninstalled and those contacts dissapeared. whew. Whould've been a nightmare. lol

I also had the free Tweetcaster Pro and also got the same error as above. ^ Uninstalled.

Installed one of my favorite twitter apps Seesmic and has worked flawlessly. It'll be my twitter app once again.

My guess is that they are not optimized for ics yet...it'll take awhile for most apps to get optimized and work properly

supercharged modified liquid 3.1 w/turbocharged 3g
Pete's 5 slot lv 1.25GHz w/ kickasskernel tweaks

Yeah... I sort of figured that it's not ready to handle ICS. In the meantime I downloaded Seesmic, and it's working much better. I used to use... kind of forgot how much I liked it. Thanks

There is a way to turn off the “sync contacts" option within the basic twitter app. It is somewhere in the settings.

Cool, thanks for the heads up! I might give it another try then.

There's also a setting in 'People' to remove certain contacts including Twitter. Although I thought I was dreaming when I opened contacts and saw Adrienne Curry listed first. Giggity.

Go to developer settings and select 'force gpu rendering', this fixed most of my twitter problems... used to lag like crazy and do stupid stuff like re-load the icons for each page worth of tweets, even those i've already loaded.

I'm a long time Plume user but I downloaded twicca on a friends recommendation - it looks sick on the Nexus

Thanks... Just tried that. Checked the "Force gpu rendering" The scrolling is better, but I too am getting the lag on the profile pics in the timeline. I scroll down, and they load, scroll back up and they load after a few seconds, and then back down to the ones that just loaded 10 seconds before, and they are gone and have to reload again.
