G3 and G watch

I have the G watch with fit. When I'm on the treadmill it registers my steps but then goes back to the starting point. Example, it I start at 300 steps I'll get up 500 and then for some reason it goes back to 300 and it doesn't register. I tried calling lg but no luck. Ty

Are you referring to the number of steps that the phone or the watch tells you that you have?

Trying to figure out if it's an issue of the watch syncing with the phone, or what.

You said you have the watch with fit, do you also have the fit app installed on the phone?

I'm sorry. If my phone is physically on my fit and my watch works fine.if I keep the phone on the treadmill it doesn't register
