Fun With TTS/STT!

I was trying to give advice to a buddy of mine playing God of War 1.

What I said:
Basically, you pull the lever, and at the bottom of the last pillar, there is a little room and you have to get into it.

STT Translation:
basically yuportal ever know the bottom of the lash curler there's a little room annie's attic into it.

Post any funny Speech-to-Text, or vice-versa, experiences you have had!

I don't know if I have some weird northeastern accent or something, but I have NEVER gotten speech to text to work for me.

There was a thread a while back where someone posted what they said into Handcent's TTS tool. I've used that sentence many times and it always gets it right (spelling and words) and blows people away:

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood

And you don't have to say it slow either!

Yeah, it seems to search for known phrases that sound similar if it doesn't know exactly what you said. So that Woodchuck tongue twister matches a known phrase, so it is translated perfectly.

It obviously puts words together in phrases as you can tell by my original post. "lash curler" being an example. Two words that are often used together that google threw into my statement. It must have found a word that sounded similar to "last" (lash), couldn't quite make out what I said after that, so it picked a word that may usually be used with "lash".

Interesting stuff...
