Froyo on the X

I wouldnt worry too much about the code signing with eFuse, at least I hope so.

The iphone 3GS had something close to it when it was released, FW had to be signed and verified by Apple's servers.....that was hacked and fixed ;)

Anyways, I believe there is always a loophole, just a matter of how much time it will take to find it.

There are ways to fake signatures. We may have to come up with a surrogate signature to allow a new one to load, basically fake out the bootloader. Only time will tell.

I like this guy. Very true. Even if "unhackable" it will always be hacked

I don't think anyone (with actual knowledge of the issue) thinks it's unhackable. The main worry is that no one will hack it before it falls out of popularity. If it's hacked in three years no one will care cause the Droid X will be replaced by the Droid XYZ

My sister's best friend's boy friend said that once we get root, we will be able to overclock to 30GHz, upgrade to dual core and run Windows 7.

Rumor has it the eFuse turns you into Chuck Norris once you defeat it.

Thanks for the laughs!

+1

That was going to be my reply. The milestone, cousin to the droid, came out last year and they still can't flash roms on it. If each's phone's current lockdown just holds for 6 months to a year then I'd say they sort of win. Or we all just buy phones that are 6 months past release date.

I can see this thread is waaaayyy off topic........let's get back on topic fellas

So yesterday I spent 5 hours at my local Verizon store waiting for FedEx to drop off a shipment of Droid X's.

While I was there, a Motorola rep came in and hung out for about an hour. I talked to him about various things including Froyo for the DX. He told me that they will be releasing it as soon as Adobe releases Flash 10.1 officially. He also said that he had a DX at home running Froyo already and that it ran very smooth.

While I was on the Froyo subject I asked him when it was being released for the Droid and he said that there was no official date but that it would be "soon". I then showed him my Droid running BuglessBeast (Froyo) and he asked where I got it. I then told him I rooted it and loaded a custom ROM and he chuckled.

So anyway, I guess we're just going to have to wait on Adobe now.

Figured I'd just quote myself...lol
