Force close loop

So I made a mistake and didn't wipe data before installing v0.8, is there a way to get out of my force close loop? I've tried several ways to boot into recovery and can't do it.

Found out how to fix it.
1)Boot into recovery by holding X and Power
2) Hit both the volume buttons
3) Delete cache (may not do anything, just pull battery)
4) Reboot, you should go to clockwork mod
5) Clear data/reset and cache
6) Reinstall.

I did this all while plugged into my computer via USB, don't know if that had any effect.
