Flashing the SBF

I am a newb when it come to this and i have looked through the forums and i might have missed it and if i did then i am sorry for reposting. With that said would flashing the phone's SBF to an early point would let you unlock the bootloader or am i just screwed.

If you took the latest update you can no longer unlock the bootloader. You can still root if you want.
