flash rom?

My xt907 is locked but rooted and has safestrap. Can I flash ROM? I made a ROM slot and all the good stuff but when I flash a rom, it fails. Tried multiple ROMs along with gapps. Must I be unlocked???

The ROM was be specifically for your device the RAZR M. You might be flashing ROMs for other RAZRs.

Post up a link to the ROM you're trying to flash so I can see if its all good.

Most roms for the M were made for unlocked bootloaders only. There was an exploit that allowed you to unlock but OTA 's have fixed it. For a rom you will have to look back a while so most won't be up to date. Just make sure the thread says safestrap compatible.

So what you r saying is basically, I need to have unlocked BL? After the last ota I was finally able to root again, but that's about it. And all the ROMs for locked BL are for 4.1.1. I am 4.1.2

Exactly. Most if not all developers stopped developing for safestrap because of the unlocked bootloader. Hash code even stopped supporting/working on SS for that line of devices.
