I am still using FISSION 2.6.1

I still have an issue with powermanagement force closeing on reboot but the rom is still rocking...

Will we be getting some Gingerbread love for the D2 (non-global)?

According to AngDroid, he has purchased a new device, but will continue supporting the D2. I can't say I'm sold on it, but hope is better than nothing at all.

i hope theres still support for it. i love this ROM. ive tried a bunch of different ones but i keep coming back to Fission. i hope theres some GB love for this ROM.

This ROM has been dead in the water for months, I moved on a while ago as nothing was happening with it, and nothing has happened with it since then.

Try CM4D2 (CyanogenMod for Droid 2)...it's the best ROM available for the D2 IMHO. You can find info here...

[DEV_THREAD] CyanogenMod 7 (BASED) port for Droid 2 based of cvpcs cm4dx

To install you'll need to SBF back to Froyo, as the CyanogenMod ROM uses a clever "cheat" and boots of the Froyo kernel to get around the D2 locked bootloader.

Easiest approach on the SBF is to get the Team Black Hat app, which allows you to download a flashable ZIP that will "SBF" you back to Froyo stock unrooted w/out having to use RDS Lite, etc.

Then you root, flash CM4D2 and Google Apps (goo-inside.me - gapps downloads) from Clockwork Recovery, and rock on.

The developer team has just gotten the ROM in the approval process for official integration w/the CM build processes, so it will be available via ROM Manager, andif you have ROM Manager Premium you'll also have access to nightly builds.

Just very cool........

The last I read CM7 was still pretty buggy. I'm waiting for a more stable release before I flash CM7. I do have ROM Manager premium and it hasn't shown up in there yet.

Besides, I'm kinda liking Liberty GB right now :)

Not buggy, completely solid/stable. I have never had a single lock up or reboot and I've been running it for a week now. So there's no need to wait if you want to try it - it's been fully stable and virtually bug free for a few builds/days now.

People (including me) are using it as their daily driver w/out issue. The main bug they are working on now is that you have to plug/unplug/plug USB to get charging/mount.

I'll give it a try then. The only prob is that its not showing up in ROM Manager and I do have the Premium version.

Nightlies are supposed to start showing up tonight. The rom was approved today! :)

Remember you have to be on Froyo to load it.

Nightlies are also available here for now, most recent is good to go.

I know I have to flash back to Froyo then install CM7, but I don't have to be on Froyo to download it from ROM Manager do I?

From the web site I posted above, no.

From ROM Manager, I don't think you'd see the nightlies unless you were on CM7 already...so I'd download the most recent build from the revnumbers.info site on your PC or phone.

So I can just download one of the nightlies and install it like normal? (Through CWM or ROM Manager)

Yes...once you're on Froyo and re-rooted w/CW Recovery installed, simply launch CW Recovery and then wipe data/factory reset, format /system, and then install ROM from SD card.

After you reboot in CM4D2 do NOT use Bootstrapper any more - you will hang your system and have to SBF. Only use ROM Manager or the power menu (hold down power button, select Reboot from menu, and choose recovery) to get into Recovery. I uninstalled Bootstrapper once I was on CM to keep from using it accidentally.

Awesome. I'll give it wurl and see if I like it. Thanks for the info. How far along are they from making it an official release?

It is official, it's been approved via the CM processes, and you should start seeing nightlies in ROM Manager tonight (or maybe tomorrow morning).

I was on CM7 for a couple days, and went back to Fission w/ the Galaxy S theme, and not only do I feel back at home, but my battery life is better on Fission.
