I just saw a commercial for the charge and they said it's the first android to be infused with verizon 4g lte

Am I missing something or are the 20mbps speeds I'm getting actually on 3g? Lol

The commercial said droid. Verizon stamps droid as it's own brand. TB is the first android on Verizon.

What's the difference between droid and android? How is it the first android? isn't droid a name for a phone whereas android is a platform

There is no difference it all comes down to marketing. that's why all the "droids" gets the red write boot animation.

do you mean that tb is the first android on verizon's 4g? because it is not the first android

Oh my goodness cmon...

People seem to be so confused over this "Droid" name. I hear people that have Sprint android phones calling their phones "Droids". LOL

Verizon brands certain phones with the name Droid... Its simply a name... Droid Eris, Droid 1, Droid 2, Droid X, Droid Incredible, Droid Charge.

The Thunderbolt is not a Droid branded phone. It is a phone using the Android operating system like many others on any network. The T-Bolt is Verizon's first 4g phone but it is not a Droid.

So when Verizon says the Charge is their first 4g Droid... They are correct.

Yes it can be confusing, but its all just marketing. Everyone wants a "Droid"!

Not to mention that some people seem to think that the Thunderbolt is a lesser phone because it doesn't "earn" the Droid badge (i.e. Thunderbolt versus Droid Thunderbolt).
