File editor?

new user here. I recently edited a file with file editor tool. Droid X2 gives me option to save but no location. Went to find file via astro. Can't find file.
Phone is not rooted.
Second note, anyone know good root for X2 2.3.4?

Most of the time when you edit a file... It overwrites the file and leaves it where it's at...
And you can use the Droid 3 one click root... I got the link in my sig

For file editor, I would have thought the same thing but the file isn't then saving my changes...
Is thee anyway to disable a write protect I wonder as it doesn't tell me anything after I hit save. Nothing happens is all. I am changing the file from an emailed file. Maybe save file first and then update.. Interesting...

Oh so it's a file from an email? Yes you'll need to save it before you can edit it
