FB app suggestions?

Originally my problem was that for some reason I couldn't sync my contacts from Facebook to my Droid 2. I was told not to use the Facebook for Android application, but try something else called Friend Caster for Facebook. I liked the application and the widget and there was a setting for contacts but when ever I clicked it it just never loaded anything, nor did it refreshed, I don't even think it tried to load. But anyway, now I would just like a FREE application for Facebook that can sync my contacts AND is able to update notifications as soon as possible. Bc it is annoying trying to talk to someone and reply every fifteen minutes to a comment cuz that's when my phone wants to notify me. so is there ANY GOOD APPS THAT MIGHT BE ABLE TO Help ME OUT?
