Favorites contact not remembering #

Hello,
I have been having a problem trying to get my favorite contacts in the People or the Phone app to keep the default # that I have chosen for each of my favorites.
I have gone into the app's chosen the name from within the favorites tab, placed a checkmark in the box that says: "Remember this choice" and choose the #.

After a bit when I go back to the person and tap on there name I have to again choose which # I want to call them with.

Anyone else with this problem, and what can I do to correct this its annoying?
