Facebook Widget Refresh rate

In my facebook app I actually TURNED OFF notifications which also forbids you from selecting the refresh rate. But the widget still refreshes on its own. Do you know how to control the refresh rate of this Widget? Or does it pick the value that was last chosen on the refresh rate in the app (even though I can't select it anymore because I turned off notifications)....

the facebook app on the droid is god awful compared to the iphone app

yes i agree, i am not pleased with the app at all. i just switched from Iphone to the Droid and that is something i use a lot, there isnt even an "inbox" geez how hard is that?
