Facebook syncing

After I sync a contact in my phone book with a facebook contact, is it possible to change the name in my contact list to a nickname that I could easily search for?
Ex: I linked my contact "Mom" with her facebook and her name in my contact book changed to her full name

No. Most FB apps suck, I would try the Facebook Sync App. I'm not sure it will do what you want, but if there's any chance, then this is it.
