Facebook Sync Gingerbread

Running the latest official GB .596 rooted. I am having problems adding my facebook account to sync my contacts. Every attempt leaves me with an internal server error. I have tried almost everything under the sun with no such luck. Any suggestions?

With Gingerbread, Google removed support for facebook contact integration as well as facebook video upload from the gallery. Yeah, it doesn't make any sense to go backwards in facebook integration, but the two companies have been having a PR fight. So we, the android user, get to receive the negative consequences of a tech giant fight.

I now use the SyncMyPix app to sync fb profile pics with my contacts. Works really well if you have the correct first and last name.
