Facebook app tagging

When tagging people in a comment I used to be able to delete their last name once their name was selected in the post. Now it won't keep their name bold (selected) once I delete any part of their name. The bold tag goes away.

That seems to be a 'new' thing with the app. I use the browser to avoid that (and avoid the FB messenger app).
