EZROOT for Galaxy Nexus

The method out is pretty straight forward. Its good to learn the current method in case you mess up your phone some how. This way you are somewhat familiar with adb.

But I am sure someone is working on a one click root file.

Methods we have now are very straightforward, just follow direction:)

sbenson's method is what I used and it is very simple and easy to follow.

i pretty familiar with adband rooting from og droid . i unlocked bootloader on galaxy already but hesitant to root bc i want to get updates still and i know if you flash a rom it messes with the update. can i root for now, but not flash a rom just root access for tether access will i still get the updates?

yes, just stay with the stock recovery or be familiar with reverting back to stock recovery through the stockrecovery.p file in /system.

Every time I get a new phone everything is different. So I was a bit nervous at first also. But the process was so easy and fast that I don't think there is any need for a one click root app.

I forgot how easy things could be! It's been a long time since I owned my D1. I'm loving all the developer support already for this phone. My other phones were very slow in getting a good start.

With these unlocked phones (Droid1 and now GNex) I've found that the updates were available for install well before they were pushed OTA. I have most of the 4.0.3 on my phone now and do have the new radio and the new kernel. On my Droid1, I only took one over the air and then every thing was installed prior to the OTA being pushed. I think the GNex is going to be the same. The Devs will have the updates quite a while before they are pushed. Just my opinion and YMMV!!
