Extra SIM card Question

I ended up with an extra, unused SIM card that came with my Galaxy S4. Is there anything that I can use this for? OR are they pretty much useless/worthless?

its worthless until activated.
when i have bought phones that came with it from the store, they just threw it in the trash and got out a new one, claiming they are somewhat unreliable.
