So after driving an hour and a 1/2 or so this morning, using google nav I got to where I was headed. . hour later got back in car and put the phone in the window mount charger and a message came up saying something to the effect "Battery Not Recognized - Cannot Charge - Please Install an original Motorola Battery. With the battery icon had a "?" in it. So I stopped at a vzw store I passed on way home and they said it was the battery and searched inventory, and said none were available anywhere, not even in their warehouses and I should call in a few weeks..
