eris wont finish downloading apps?

I'm trying to help my friend figure out her downloading problem with her Droid Eris. Every time the Eris says its downloading it just shows the status bar, but never finishes the download. Any help? Does she need to upgrade something?

Downloading Apps

Are you having trouble downloading apps in the Marketplace or different apps? You should have notification on the top left of the screen confirming the download is complete. Also you should then see the apps listed in the initial Marketplace screen. Have you checked?

Just restart it and you'll see notifications: "app installed"
