Up until this app was released, the Droid X had very limited HDMI capabilities. All you could do was view stuff from your gallery. With this app, you can use your video player, applications and even emulators from your Droid X directly to your big screen. If you purchased the Droid X for the HDMI, you can take full advantage of it now. This app only costs $1.99 and is available now in the Android Market.

Market Description:

Warning: This only works for the Droid X.

Finally you can enable and disable the HDMI port on your Droid X. Use your favorite video players, applications and emulators on your big screen TV or Stereo.

- HDMI Video/Audio Out
- Car/Media Dock Modes

I looked at the reviews for this in the market and I dont think Ive seen so many positive reviews before..

Will this allow you to now view movies from blockbuster from the X directly to the TV? I still haven't figured out why they tout Blockbuster but couldn't view on the TV thru the HDMI...

Very cool, but downer on not being able to see your phone's display on the phone.

Yea it is, but this is his first release and updates are coming. I think he mentioned in the thread at the DX forums that he might be able to get the displays to mirror each other but it would most likely need to be a rooted phone.

sounds like a great app!! can anyone confirm that the slingbox app will output the signal (both video and audio) through hdmi? If so, I may have to go get a DX!!!
