Email Problems

Of all the complaints I have been reading about with the GB update, not too many people seem to be complaining about their email issues. My email used to work perfectly. Now it won't update every 5 minutes like I programmed it to and deletes mail on the server when 'don't delete mail from the server' box is checked. I'm running a POP 3, not an exchange server.

Today, Verizon tech support set the phone back to factory settings, still including GB, and my problem persists?

Any ideas?

I've been using Android since the original Droid came out and I hated the native email app from the first day. I switched to K-9 as soon as it became available and loved it. The I found how to use the Gmail app to have my pop3 accounts pushed to my phone and I've never looked back. The Gamil app works and having Google poll my pop3 accounts and push the emails to my phone I get my emails promptly and I am using less battery due to no polling on my part. Just another option.

Using Gmail as your own personal push mail server

I did everything in the email you suggested but have one more question. How do you get a 'vibrate' when a new message arrives? I've tried but it's not doing it.

Please let me know and thank you for the great idea.

Not sure how to do that one either. I looked at the "haptic feedback" option in menu/settings/sound and it indicates that it vibrates on certain events and none of them seemed to be as a notification. I also looked in the settings in the gmail app and under the gmail account settings and found nothing. Sorry. I never use vibrate/haptic feedback as it is a battery hog. I guess the only time it will vibrate is when mute is chosen. Good luck.
