Email Notification notifies me of new messages after reading new message.

This one is a bit hard to explain, but it is getting to be annoying.

If I receive a new email, I get the notification sound. After reading the email, then putting my phone back to sleep, I get another email notification sound. The problem is, there are no new emails when this happens. If I read more than one unread email in the same session, then put the phone to sleep, I get a notification sound for each email that I read.

This seems to have started at the same time as the 2.2 update. Should I delete my exchange settings and re-enter them?

This is just an idea. After updating to 2.2 I was getting douplicate emails. My droid has Gmail and Email apps. I had to manually unselect the email app so I wouldn't get the email twice... Not sure if this is the same issue you are having.

thanks for the reply. my email is setup with an outlook exchange server, so I believe that I need the Email app running for it to work. I don't use Gmail, but there doesnt appear to be a way to uninstall it.
