Email keeps being marked as "unread"

Just got a Droid this weekend. My gmail account syncs to it just fine, but when I set up my work email, it imported the 25 most recent emails and said they were all unread. I went through, highlighted all of them and clicked "mark as read"....and everything was fine. 5 minutes later, I check my account again and those same 25 emails were back to the "unread" state. Anyone know what's going on?

This happens to me too with my MSN account. Not very convenient. I'll delete messages on the Droid and then find them as unread on my PC.

This happens all the time to me.. Found a half assed fix though.. In your gmail on the phone hit.
Menu, labels, all mail.. there you can see the ones that are causing your inbox to show "unread" mail when its all obviously read.
