I take no credit for this.. its all cvpcs's work and the cyanogenmod team.. **the jb zip was also made by dhacker it is 100% stable i think better than ics :)** i was just impatient and merged the data fix before it went live :), Build now has kexec intergrated so all u need to do is flash this new recovery and the cm9 zip it will auto Kexec thanks to cvpcs

Hi Folks. I installed Clockworkmod on my Galaxy S3 (Verizon). Then I backed it up and installed "BeansStockRom." I am rooted with roote66. BSR is based off of CM10 as I understand it. The installation went without a hitch. There was once after reboot that it froze as I was loading Go Launcher and a custom key board. So I don't know if it froze due to GL or a left over titbit from somewhere else. Anyway, I pulled the battery and it came back to life just fine with no more hitches.

So, here's the big plus... Speedtest numbers between 25 and 32 (+/-) Mbps. All the typical Samsung bloat is of course gone. Also gone is Visual Voice Mail and Verizon Sync Plus (the portion that backs up phone numbers and contacts). The pics back up still works. I do miss the verizon feature a little but it's only because I've been using both Google and Verizon for backing up my Contacts.

Soooo, at the end of the day, the S3 is way faster on the speed test numbers. I have yet to run any bench marks but I'm sure they will be improved due to a lack of bloat.

Comments, questions, let me know.

Oh, one last thing... The main reason I did the change was that BeansStockRom allows overclock up to 1.9 Ghz. I have yet to to do that but the nice thing is that it will extend the useful life of the device past the normal planned obsolescence that we all have to deal with. I think officially it's called Beans Town 106 rom.

I take it this has all the options that r available on say cm9 for nexus? Coming from the OG to s3 is tough cuz of no customizing available, aside from launchers and themes. I take it its not as popular cuz of the locked bootloader and no custom kernels? Why aren't more s3 users flashing this?

I hate the back buttons. We have one of the bottom of the phone. Don't need another.

Hope the developer comes out with a fix. Only reason I switched back to stock.

I take it cm9 is more stable than 10? I came from the OG and I miss all the options I had with different roms. Can't change the screen density, no power control widget, tons more. Doesn't seem to be much conversation for this.

I know it's from rootzwiki but it must be the locked bootloader that has crippled all development for this Verizon s3? If it was the same as all the others I'm sure their would be crazy discussions goin on like for other devices, but seems our only options r different launchers and themes. I really don't want to swap this for a nexus but it just seems this beast is being held back from truly being a beast due to the bootloader and I'm not sure I can accept this. I'll tell the chumps at the Verizon store right to their face the reason for an exchange is a locked bootloader, and to inform their superiors to tell their superiors. Gosh darn it, why'd they have to put me in this predicament?? Bastards is all they are.
