dx gmail sync to mail on mac

I have this problem with both apple mail and thunderbird mac. When I delete gmail messages on my dx they are not deleted on either mac mail programs...I'm using imap on everything and I though they should sync???

What settings in gmail do I need ot fix this?

First off, as many people will tell you, you should use K9 instead of the stock email client. In K9, there's a setting for "delete mail from server when I delete". Check it.
