Ok...I had a phone stolen about a year ago...turned it in on my insurance...got a call from police that my phone was found and it is stil brand new...Went in and did a reset, but when I try to call out, it gives me a message from Big Red...is there anything I can do so I can use this phone? Everything was uploaded...gmail, facebook, twitter etc...just wont let me call out? Any ideas?

I doubt it will work again, because if you told Verizon about it they probably banned it from being used. You could always root and rom it and use it in airplane mode with wifi as more of a play device.

sent from a DROIDX using S.S. 2.2... the best rom for it...

Once replaced by insurance, the ESN can not ever be active again. Like the poster said before, you have the Android equivelent of an iTouch. Put it in Airplane mode, turn of Wifi and you can use the Market, Email, etc. Add music and video, etc.
