Droid Screen won't work

My phone was working fine until the battery came out. Now, the screen wont turn on nor respond to any touch (I have pretty much memorized where everything is). I would assume that it broke when I dropped it but I've dropped phones before and know what they look like. There is no sign of cracking or even a back light. The battery is charged and the keyboard lights up but my home screen, menu, search, or back button don't light up. Also my led indicator won't flicker either. Naturally I would've went to the store because this truly does sound like the hardware malfunction but my droid is rooted so i wouldn't be able to use my warranty. Any suggestions?

This just happened to me last night. I dropped it, which I've done several times, and then the screen went blank. Everything else lights up but the screen. It will work for a little while if I leave the battery out for a while but then will just go blank again. Please help!!!
