Droid Razr -- GSM working?

Hey all, I understand that Verizon was supposed to put out an update that enabled global GSM roaming on the Droid Razr. Does it work now? I'd want to use it outside the US with a local SIM card (not the Verizon roaming sim card).

Did you swap out the sim card with a local one or are you working off VZ international plan?

Global capabilities were introduced with ICS. The link above shows how some folks were successful using a local sim and not the VZ global plan.
