Droid incredible goes black during call

Hi,
during some calls I dialed the screen goes black and non of the buttons is working not even the top one on/off.
I see this happening when dialing to verizon voice mail or #DATA.

Its very annoying because I cannot disconnect that call until the other side ending it.
Any Idea?

Be mindful of how your holding the phone. You might be blocking the proximity sensor with a finger thus making the screen black. That drove me nuts for a few weeks.
